Train on Trestle Tower

The first train to come overhead was totally unexpected.  I was under the bridge when it happened. This is the best of the photos and it captures the bridge and the train in motion overheard in an unusual way.

Details of Railroad Trestle Bridge Span 27

As I said in an earlier post, I don’t know anything about bridges but this one was looking a little rusty and worn around the edges and it was quite a surprise to me when the first train came ailing overhead (photos posted shortly).

Span 27

The only identification that I could see (at least without trespassing, which I did not do) was this so I assume this was how the bridge was known I know nothing at all about bridges, trestle or otherwise, but this one looked rather rusty and frankly it didn’t occur to me that it was still in use until the first train passed overhead. Before we get to that I’ll post a few other photos of details of the bridge.

Trestle Bridge II

This is the same side of the bride as in the prior photo, just looking in the other direction.

As I have said before in my blog, I visited Minot, North Dakota not too long ago. I took a half a day away from family things to do some exploring by myself and totally unexpectedly I ran into this train trestle bridge just a few miles outside of the city.
