Last fall I went over to the Wisconsin River to shoot some photos of the Sandhill Crane Congregation that occurs very close to Aldo Leopold’s “Shack” along the river. For some reason, cranes group together into large “Congregations” — basically staging areas — before heading south for the winter. I got a few interesting shots although my biggest telephoto lens is only 200mm and much of the activity was on the other side of the river. This required a fair amount of work with Photoshop, particularly with the photos taken later in the day. Please let me know what you think if you enjoy these.
