As as symptom of the startling dysfunction of the U.S. government that the radical Republican’s in the U.S. House of Representatives have brought upon us, there is no better example that this: with four days left until the sequester takes place, the only piece of legislation the House considered yesterday was the renaming of a NASA facility in California. Mind you that the sequester will cut budgets of federal agencies  indiscriminately meaning that air traffic controllers, food safety inspectors, employees of the Centers for Disease Control, the National Weather Services, the FBI, civilian contractors of the Defense Department, business too numerous to mention that supply the federal government with everything from paperclips to paper plates will feel the the effects of sequestration and yet the only thing the radical Republicans in the House of Representatives had time for was to rename a NASA facility. FYI, the critical legislation the house took up was H.R. 667, a bill to “redesignate the Dryden Flight Research Center as the Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center.”
