Camouflaged Survivor

I don’t know what type of butterfly this is, but this one has fascinated me for 2 reasons. First, this particular butterfly is quite battered (as are many that I photograph). Second, this pretty effectively demonstrates how well a brightly colored butterfly can still blend well into its background.

    That looks like a Buckeye. Love the shot. It makes me wonder what the ‘camouflage’ is ? My guess is it rhymes with predator.
